PRE APPLICATION INFORMATION: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Thank you for your interest in The World Path’s Living Lesson Program! We are excited to work with passionate educators like you to bring conservation and endangered wildlife education to the classroom. Before applying, please take a moment to review the key eligibility requirements and responsibilities of the program.

Eligibility Requirements:

Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

  • Active Classroom Teacher: Full-time educator in an elementary school (grades K-5). *
  • Commitment to Conservation: A genuine interest in teaching your students about endangered species, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship. *
  • Willingness to Implement Lesson Plans: You must be ready to integrate our provided conservation-focused lesson plans into your existing curriculum. *
  • Ability to Care for a Classroom Companion: You will receive an animal or plant companion to care for in your classroom. You must be comfortable with the responsibilities of maintaining this living companion throughout the semester and onward.

Responsibilities as a Program Participant:

  • Teach the Program’s Lesson Plans: Fully implement our lesson plans on endangered wildlife and environmental stewardship into your classroom by the end of the semester.
  • Care for Your Classroom Companion: Ensure the proper care of the companion (with student involvement) by following the provided maintenance guide.
  • Use of Grant Funds: The grant is exclusively for the purchase and maintenance of your classroom companion. You’ll receive initial funding to acquire the companion and ongoing support for its care.
  • Engage Your Students: Have your students actively participate in caring for the companion, fostering hands-on learning and responsibility.

  • Ongoing Support: Guidance and assistance from The World Path throughout the semester.
